I got the Zhu-Zhu's,
I got the Zhu-Zhu's...
And you don't have yours,
And you don't have yours!
Neener, neener! =)
Also got the little exercise wheel and the uber-adorable race car! It just so happened today that while we were in Toys R Us, as we were waiting to check out, I looked over and saw about 15 of the pets on the shelf. I totally thought I was LOSING MY MIND, but picked one up and it was the real McCoy. I had to enlist Granny to distract and then shuffle the kids out in front of me so they wouldn't see me buying the contraband - lol. The cashier laughed when I put them on the counter; she said they had just put them out in the last 30 minutes (it was about 12:15), and she said by 1:00, they'd be gone and all the accessories, too.
I get to be Super Mommy and Super Tia on Christmas morning! I love it when that happens!

Large Weekend Plans!
Tonight I'm finishing up wrapping some prrrrrrresssssssssents, charging up the gadgets, and trying to get some sleep. Then we wake up early and head off to Disney World for John Sam's NINTH BIRTHDAY! Can't wait to take some pictures of my kiddoes getting their first dose of Mickey Mouse & Co. On Sunday the celebration continues when Granny arrives to hang with the Birthday Boy.

10.8.09 Juicy Fruit Gum
On the way to school this morning, John Sam asked for a piece of gum. I told him I couldn't get it while I was driving. A few minutes later he says, "Mom, can you get the gum right now? Because you're only driving with one hand."
He got the gum after I stopped laughing.

Catching up
Got together tonight with two of my oldest friends..... I don't mean oldest as in advanced age, I mean oldest in the sense that we've known each other since middle school. (To save you some quick math, that'd be almost 30 years.)
We discussed friends, partying, puking, short term memory loss, and reminded each other of funny incidents in which we were all involved but only 2 outta 3 of us could remember. Schoolwork, jobs, family, careers, and life choices also worked their way into the conversation.
It's great to hang with people who knew you back in the day - the good ole days. Talking with each other and getting caught up helps us realize that even though it's fun to go back in time, being in the here and now is what's important.
Kelly and Val - Love you guys!

Bedtime Prayers
We've been saying the same bedtime prayers since the kids could recite them. I didn't like the "if I should die..." part when they were small, so I changed it a little.
John Sam and Caroline's Bedtime Prayers
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
Guide me safely through the night,
And wake me with the morning light.
God bless Mommy & Daddy & Bubba/Sissy and Me.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Because both of them are their own little people, they change it up some, too. John Sam pronounces the word soul as "sol" (Spanish word for "sun"), and before the last part, he adds, "and Beamer and Kismet and Cole-Cole and Chubby. And I love mom & dad and I love all the family." Caroline's ending is, "and Tokyo and Kismet. And give us Lord, in Jesus' name, Amen."
Makes me smile just typing that.

Sat Night Live
Can barely keep my eyes open, but had to check out the opening segment of Saturday Night Live. It's still funny sometimes!
Neglected to mention in the Spirit Dance post that I forgot my camera, so the pictures were taken with my cell phone.

Spirit Dance
First Spirit Dance of the year! John Sam and Caroline have made a lot of friends, and everybody had a good time just hanging out. We listened to some music, bought some glow sticks, and taste tested just about all the desserts. Tough job, but we forced ourselves. :)
You have to look closely in this first one to find them, JS is on the left in blue and CG is to the right of him wearing the green dress.

Happy Birthday, Frog!
Frog is really my friend Teresa, and I've called her "Frog" ever since Smokey and the Bandit. She calls me Narf (Fran backwards). I hope she has a terrific birthday today! :)
