Mi querido sobrino tiene 10 años hoy!!
Here are some cakes which I did not make, but could have made if I had a clone of myself.
We'll make homemade ice cream next time we get to visit.

Had a fun time visiting old friends at the SHS 30 year class reunion. Ahem. For the record, I don't like typing the words "30th" and "class reunion" in the same sentence. It makes me sound ancient. I missed some classmates I wanted to see, and I got to see some that I haven't seen in a long while, so I needed to reconnect.
These are the only pictures I took with my camera because I knew I was going to mooch off everyone's photos from Facebook.
I love my high school friends.

10-11-12
Numbers Dweeb is back. Today's date is cool. :)
Also happens to be the one year anniversary of having a new address. Hard to believe that much time has passed.

JS birthday photos
To my chagrin I don't have enough photos of John Sam's birthday. I think I need to check with some other sources to see if they might share ;p
If you talk to Zing &open a present at the same time...
You can make Zing do this!
JS is reading so his eyes look a little wonky, but I liked the halo effect from the lamp behind him
My birthday boy with his mommy's favorite smile. Excuse me, I meant to say, my birthday pre-teen. (sobbing sound here)

Happy B'day Son!
I've been a parent for 12 years. Wow. John Samuel has had all these years to train me. ;p
Quick pic because I am on my way back to work. A few more to come later tonight. Not that I have many to choose from because 12 year olds don't want any more pictures taken.
Like, ever.

Scooters in Action
The kids got $ for their good grades, and they decided they wanted to get kick scooters. The first round on Saturday was chock full of scrapes and skinned knees. That brand new box 'o Band-aids came in handy. Today they had the hang of it and it sure made my heart smile to hear them laughing and playing. Instead of crying like yesterday, muahaha.

Happy Birthday Mom!
Hope Mom/Granny Old like the cakes we made for her!
And, since it's better to be way early than a few days late, here is the prototype for Granny's 2013 cake! So unique...and all edible :)

But, just in case the peacock one doesn't turn out, we have a backup cake plan.

Mirror
Mirror
I am silver and exact. I have no preconceptions.
Whatever I see I swallow immediately
Just as it is, unmisted by love or dislike.
I am not cruel, only truthful-
The eye of the little god, four cornered.
Most of the time I meditate on the opposite wall.
It is pink, with speckles. I have looked at it so long
I think it is a part of my heart. But it flickers.
Faces and darkness separate us over and over.
Now I am a lake. A woman bends over me,
Searching my reaches for what she really is.
Then she turns to those liars, the candles or the moon.
I see her back, and reflect it faithfully.
She rewards me with tears and an agitation of hands.
I am important to her. She comes and goes.
Each morning it is her face that replaces the darkness.
In me she has drowned a young girl, and in me an old woman
Rises toward her day after day, like a terrible fish.
