As we close out April 2012, I have to squeak in another post before it's May. The sidebar has been updated a bit. Will probably add more gadgets in a few days.

Semi unhealthy
Frozen milk is healthy. Whoppers are not. I'm counting on each of them to cancel the other one out.

No photo
Blog posts without pictures might as well not be posted. But I am embarrassed about the low post count for these last few months, so I'm phoning it in and {gasp!} and posting anyway sans photo.

Seen About Town
I've been taking my camera with me ever since the alligator sighting en route to Red Lobster. It seems like I'm not the only one who says it the way she wants. :)

10:28 p.m.
and all is well. Presently I am getting out the frozen milk and two mini cupcakes, and then I'll be vegging out on the couch under the pretense of watching the weather forecast.

Avatar
I got my hair done today and I'm hoping I can get Ms. Caroline to take a photo that actually looks like me - lmao!
Saw a dear friend yesterday. Not only does she look mah-velous, she is one of the best hug-givers ever! Don't be a stranger MAC, or Frannie-B-Bad will be pissy. You know you don't want that....
I hope to post more later--and pix. That's the plan and we'll see how it turns out.

Alligator
We went to eat tonight and on the way by the little airport, John Sam & Caroline said they saw an alligator walking in the field. I thought they were messing around, but when I looked, I saw it too. Just walking through a field, and he was maybe 5 feet long. I considered stopping and going back to take a picture of him, but I didn't because I wanted to eat and get home before it got too late. I remember thinking, well, there's a fence there so he won't be able to get out of the field.
BUT when we left the restaurant and went back by the field, there were about 10 police cars, a gator trapper, and at least 15 people recording the incident on their smart phones. I didn't see a news truck but I am going to watch tonight's local news because I sure hope the gator gets featured.
Nobody will believe us when we say we saw it first and didn't call anyone. But we really did see him first.
P.S. This does it - the phone number for the Fla. Freshwater Fish & Game Commission is going in my cell phone contacts straight away.

2012 Easter Weekend
Today at the park there was a free Easter egg hunt from 10-12. We just walked over! :) Plastic eggs were everywhere on the ground and not really hidden. Translation: it was Candyland. I still can't believe how many eggs JS and CG "found." The event also had free lunch and every one of us had 2 hot dogs each, chips, lemonade or water, and Chips Ahoy.
Our annual egg coloring on the porch
The most special photos

Happy Day Before Easter!

Political Photographical Prank
This is a scan of a picture my dad gave me.
Is it the real Walter Mondale?
I have no idea whether this is a clever fake concocted by my dad as a prank or whether it's genuine. I'm guessing it's the former, but it's still pretty funny ;-D
Don't forget to vote! Only seven months to decide.....

Night in Day
This poem is by Joseph Stroud. I saw it on the Narrative website (for link, see sidebar).
Night in Day
The night never wants to end, to give itself over
to light. So it traps itself in things: obsidian, crows.
Even on summer solstice, the day of light's great
triumph, where fields of sunflowers guzzle in the sun--
we break open the watermelon and spit out
black seeds, bits of night glistening on the grass.
