Early to bed, early to rise
Healthy, wealthy and all that jazz.
In my case, late to bed, late to rise--which, I've noticed, doesn't exactly rhyme with jazz.
This is what happens when I blog late at night when I am super tired.
See ya in October!

WTH happened to September??
Can you believe it's the end of September . . . tomorrow?! For me, I'm guessing the time seemed to go so fast because I was off from work for a week. But dang! I'm kinda not ready for October yet. It's a busy month in our family :) AND then we go from that straight into the end of the year race known as HalloweenThanksgivingNovemberBirthdaysDecemberBirthdaysChristmasandNewYear'sEve.

Things to Think
One of my professors gave our class this poem. I really enjoy its message; hope you do too!
Things to Think
by Robert Bly
Think in ways you've never thought before.
If the phone rings, think of it as carrying a message
Larger than anything you've ever heard,
Vaster than a hundred lines of Yeats.
Think that someone may bring a bear to your door,
Maybe wounded and deranged; or think that a moose
Has risen out of the lake, and he's carrying on his antlers
A child of your own whom you've never seen.
When someone knocks on the door, think that he's about
To give you something large: tell you you're forgiven,
Or that it's not necessary to work all the time, or that it's
Been decided that if you lie down no one will die.

Starting the day with humor
I noticed this morning that a visitor from Wasilla, Alaska looked at my blog.
Is it possible that Sarah Palin is a follower of Franabelle's Fancy?
heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Swiss Kitty Robinson
When I was eating lunch today, I happened to notice a little someone having a very big time in what I think is our rubber plant. More proof I need to have my camera around my neck day and night!

Silly and staged
As I'm typing the title for my post, I'm thinking, is that a phrase or a clause? haha
The kids set this photo up, rather, Caroline made John Sam set it up. He isn't mad and she's not hassling him. She told him what to do and told me when to take the picture. Goofy? Completely. Still cute? Positively! ;-)

Sentence diagramming

End of vacation
My vacation is over and I wish it wasn't. Wah! Had a few pictures to post from the last couple of days, but was too busy doing said vacating to get them up here. Here are the ones I took tonight.
No freaking out necessary; these aren't comets, fairies, ghosts or weird celestial bodies, they're plain old raindrops. I was trying to get some lightning photos. When it started raining harder I was afraid the camera would get wet. Isn't it cool, though, how they look like they're shooting up instead of coming down? In this next one, it looks like I'm taking pictures of stars, but again--raindrops!
Back to the grind tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing my gal pals and chatting to get caught up, I mean working! :)

Clean room, yada yada yada.

There they go
Whether I'm dropping them off at summer camp
or watching them head into a brand new school year
I'm having the same thought.
There they go . . .

Crayola Model Magic
It would appear that some of my creative flair has been passed on to my children. Right now they're into making little tiny critters and objects with modeling clay. They made all of these trinkets in about an hour, and all I heard was a lot of laughing and getting along. When I moved them around so I could photo them, I discovered at least one thing they were laughing about: the orange dog is anatomically correct from the rear view.
I would definitely say this product is aptly named. :)
I'm going to list the things that are in the photos. Try to find everything--like those I Spy books. Lots of fun!
Large dog, small dog, chew toy, dog bone, caterpillar, bowtie, army tank, cat face, frosted sugar cookie, Hershey's kisses, snail, slug, fish, football, green M & M, green skittle, small cat, cake, sunflower, frog, a fat worm, and two white & purple blobs I'm not sure about.

A few new items
Haven't dusted yet, but here's the spot for the vase:
I'm waiting to put these into the ground; pondering if I should do so or leave them in the pots.
I want to put the orangey one in the front of the house. It's going to have yellow accents on the insides of the petals, according to the label. I want to put the fuschia/magenta-looking one on the left side of the house by the little half wall.

Intellectual musings
Intellectual musings for Saturday--
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. ~Aristotle
To believe fully and at the same moment to have doubts is not at all a contradiction; it presupposes a greater respect for truth, an awareness that truth always goes beyond anything that can be said or done at any given moment. ~Rollo May

Sniglet
My mom gave me these post-it notes:
Too funny! Here's the real definition, which I had to look up because I didn't know. A diphthong is a gliding monosyllabic speech sound that begins with one vowel and gradually changes to another vowel within the same syllable, as in boil, toy, or out.
I feel smarter just typing that.

September blogging
September blogging is going to be higher on the to-do list than it ended up being in August. As penance for my negligence, I will make myself take and post at least one photo per day no matter what.
Starting tomorrow . . .
