Teen Titans of Halloween 2010

Presenting "Robin" and "Raven" from the cartoon series TEEN TITANS!

The Teen Titans are tough superhero crimefighters, which is why these two are trying as hard as they can to look like Billy & Betty Bada$$ - lol.  Caroline said she didn't care about the big holes in her tights...until we got to the festival.  She used the towel as a wrap instead of a cape.  That would've never happened if she had listened to her mother, who told her she didn't need to put the tights on at 11:30 a.m.  (Moms do know a little, especially at Halloween.)  I saw John Sam run off from the cotton candy line with what I assumed was his second stick.  He bounced & bounced and she got to bounce some too.  We didn't get a lot of Halloween loot either.  All the prizes were candy, so a big haul was inevitable if they'd only gone around to some of the games.

It took John Sam about 3 shampoos to get the black color out of his hair.  Caroline didn't have a lot of blue color left because she already practiced with a lot of it while I was doing something else and after she put on the tights I told her to wait to put on.

It's beyond me how I can get a grip on tomorrow being the first day of NOVEMBER.  The holiday frenzy is just around the corner!

Halloween Mix

 Tomorrow - costumes!

Belated Birthday Wish

10/29/10 was my friend-with-the-time-machine's birthday.  She said she liked red and yellow, so this cute little red vase from Hobby Lobby was just right to hold 3 roses from the garden.  She loved them.

Free To Ramble

Ramble - To speak or write at length and with many digressions.  Or, tonight's post.  :)

Funny:  A fellow on the corner of Orange & Central holding a sign that said, "Why lie?  I need a drink!"

I took some pictures of the balloon animals that our waiter from Perkins made the kids.  The balloons were super cool--the pictures, not so much.  They looked a little on the R-rated side, so you'll just have to trust me that they were pretty neat.

Here's a picture of John Sam beating Granny at ping pong.  He took 2 out of 3, but it's obvious Granny STILL has it!

While I was searching for my Halloween kitty whiskers, I found a Teen Titans costume for John Sam. Yeah, the one I gently told him they probably didn't make.  They only had 1 character in one size; it was the one he wanted and a size 8-10.  *Score*  I was hoping for the 2 extra points by finding Caroline the Teen Titans girl costume, but three stores didn't have them. Dang!  I hope the blue-colored hair spray will make up for a little--

I found out that the new Hobby Lobby Orlando has been open since Sept. 13. I have no idea why I haven't gone in there before now. It's my new favorite store.  Unique stuff and some old favorites.  Unbelievable Christmas section.  I have to sign up online for their coupons before I go crazy in there without the discount.

One of my 2 new rosebush plants with new blooms.  Note to photographer:  During lunch hour isn't the best time to take photos.  The roses look wilted from the heat.  Duh.

I believe it's time for my frozen milk.  xo xo xo xo

Mini changes

I added a few tidbits here and there on the sidebar--some new sites I've been enjoying plus a link to my friend Colleen's etsy shop.

The post count for October is embarrassingly low, so I thought I'd call your attention to the mini changes that warrant a post of their own.

Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang

Mom and I went to see Chelsea Handler tonight at the new Amway Center.  Her buddy Joe Koi opened, and he is one funny dude.  Then Chelsea came out.... she is very un-PC and super hilarious!  We laughed so much our cheeks hurt.

Post Exam Remorse and Insight

I should be relieved and happy that the exam is done, and a big part of me is exactly that.  On the other hand, I have some anxiety from obsessing about points.

I didn't get to spend enough time on one of the questions in part two, so I know I lost some points there.  I also talked to some classmates about certain questions and their answers versus my answers.  When I heard the 2nd error--on my part--I knew I had to leave.

Before the test, I visualized 98 as my score.  At this moment I'm thinking..... please.just.let.me.pass.  The lowest numerical grade for a C- is 74.   I still hope my percentage on the exam is higher than that.  I feel that I learned more than 74% of the material.

I'll get the grade I earned.  :)

Her own little person

I noticed this tonight:

Caroline put it on to decorate her backpack because she likes decorating. By herself. She doesn't rely on me to decorate her stuff anymore *boo-hoo*  A tiny shiny heart helped me realize she's getting more independent every day.

Then yesterday she's talking to me and she says, "I got skinny jeans."

Me: "Oh? What are skinny jeans?"

She: "You know."  Giggles.

Me: "No, really, what does that mean?"

She:  "You know--skinny all the way down."

The last thought I remember before my head exploded was,  I don't think I'm ready for skinny all the way down . . .

Moving along

Did you ever see the movie Urban Cowboy?  In one scene the big bouncer at Gilley's nightclub is telling everyone to move along after one of the big fights has been broken up.  "Ain't nothing to see here," he says.

Sorry, bloggers, nothing to read here either.  Yee-haw!

Frozen milk

My milk is frozen!  I put it in the freezer just to get it super cold and I got busy doing bills/homework and presto!

Remind me why people think I'm a bad cook?

Headache & Homework

Sounds like a good potential book title.  Hard to distinguish my participles from my prepositions when the headache is reigning supreme.  Still sassy enough to make very bad grammar jokes, though, since the pounding hasn't gotten to max levels yet.  Something to look forward to..... NOT!  ha!

Grasshopper

This grasshopper was huge.  I wanted to take some more detailed closeups but I was too afraid to get close enough to do it.

Golden Birthday--Ten Years Old on Ten-Ten-Ten

Happy 10th Birthday to John Sam B!!!! You are the greatest, today and always.  You are very loved by so many family and friends and we hope all your wishes come true!

These were the presents that didn't get snuck out and opened before anyone was awake. Good thing there is this picture of them--you'll note they don't have bows, because they were opened before the bows could get taped on.

Cool Cake #10 All the Way

Talking to Daisy and Copper :)

Sweaty head, ice cream cup

Height versus age--lol

He is ten years old today

Here's one to grow on . . .

I think photos for "10 Years Old on 10/10/2010"
deserve their own separate post. Until I'm done
taking pictures for this year, let's go back
to the beginning & refresh our memories

More storm clouds

I liked the circle in the clouds--looks like a hole or an eye or something.  I love the different colors of all the sections, too.
